Patriots inactives: New England rules out both starting guards

The New England Patriots offense will be without key players against the Philadelphia Eagles. The Eagles have arguably the best pass rush in the NFL, and it may be costly.
Patriots inactive list:
LB Anfernee Jennings
G Michael Onwenu
WR DeVante Parker
DT Sam Roberts
G Cole Strange
CB Shaun Wade
Starting with the offensive line, the Patriots will be down two projected starters, with right guard Mike Onwenu (ankle) and left guard Cole Strange (knee) not suiting up for the home opener. During the first padded practice of the summer, Cole Strange banged up his knee and hasn’t been healthy since. In addition, Mike Onwenu spent most of the summer on the PUP. Onwenu had a whole week of practice, but it wasn’t enough to play in the opener.
The Patriots’ offensive line should have Trent Brown and Calvin Anderson as the tackles and David Andrews as the center. Rookie Atonio Mafi and rookie Jake Andrews are projected to start at the guard spots.
Meanwhile, DeVante Parker (knee) will also be inactive after missing several practices in the last couple of weeks. The Patriots will only have four healthy receivers on the active roster against Philly. Juju Smith-Schuster, Kendrick Bourne, and rookies Demario Douglas and Kayshon Boutte will be active. Douglas should see plenty of snaps with “X” receiver DeVante Parker not playing.
The three other inactives are Anfernee Jennings, Sam Roberts, and Shaun Wade, who are all healthy scratches.
The Patriots announced that RB Rhamondre Stevenson will be active after missing practice Friday.
All 11 rookies on the Patriots’ 53-man roster are active. Kickoff is set for 4:25 p.m.
