It’s been well over 75 hours since the Patriots made their last signing, but according to NFL Network, the Patriots have added a veteran receiver.
Wide receiver K.J. Osborn is heading to New England on a one-year deal, per ESPN’s Mike Reiss.
Osborn, 26, was a former fifth-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. The Minnesota Vikings drafted Osborn, and he spent the last four seasons there. The former Miami product has caught 160 receptions for 1,865 yards and 16 touchdowns in 60 appearances.
With the Vikings, he was their WR2 behind Justin Jefferson. The Patriots missed out on another receiver once Calvin Ridley signed with the Titans. Osborn brings a veteran presence to the Patriot’s receiver room. Recently, DeVante Parker parted ways with the Patriots, signing with the Eagles. Osborn has only missed one contest in three years with the Vikings and has averaged 500 yards in those three seasons.
The 5-foot-11 receiver’s most productive season came in 2021 when he hauled in 50 catches for 655 yards and seven scores. He usually lines up on the outside but can also play in the slot. He played 556 snaps as the X receiver last year.
The Patriots recently re-signed Kendrick Bourne and Jalen Reagor. They join DeMario Douglas, JuJu Smith-Schuster, Tyquan Thornton, Kayshon Boutte, T.J. Luther, and Kawaan Baker on the receiver depth chart.
