Week 2 inactive analysis: Javon Baker to make NFL debut

The New England Patriots received good news on Sunday: S Kyle Dugger (ankle), DE Deatrich Wise Jr. (shoulder), RG Layden Robinson (shoulder), and RB JaMycal Hasty (knee) will all be active.

The first thing to note is that WR Javon Baker will be active for the first time this season today, switching spots with WR Kayshon Boutte, who will be inactive. Joining Boutte are G Sidy Sow, LB Curtis Jacobs, OT Demontrey Jacobs, and emergency QB Joe Milton.

The Patriots only needed five inactive because OT Chuks Okorafor was placed on the exempt/left squad list, meaning he doesn’t count toward the Patriot’s 53-man roster limit.

In his absence, the Patriots will have Vederiain Lowe at left tackle, with practice-squad call-up Micheal Jordan starting at left guard. Layden Robinson is officially active and is the projected starter at right guard, with Pro Bowler Mike Onwenu starting at right tackle.

Meanwhile, as I said above, Javon Baker is officially active. Veteran K.J. Osboron and receivers Tyquan Thornton, DeMario Douglas, and rookie Ja’Lynn Polk are expected to receive plenty of action on the offensive side of the football.

Kickoff between the Patriots and Seahawks is set for 1 p.m. According to ESPN, the Patriots are a 3.5-point underdog.
