The New England Patriots have had a busy couple of days, and that will continue as they start to fill out their practice squad.
Yesterday, the Patriots finalized their 53-man roster, and there were some surprises, including the team waving quarterbacks Malik Cunningham and Bailey Zappe. The Patriots also placed OT Conor McDermott and CB Isaiah Bolden on the season-ending IR. Check out all the moves the Patriots made in my 53-man roster tracker.
The practice squad rules are fluid and changed again this year. NFL practice squads can hold up to 16 NFL players. Ten of those players will have to be players who have had less than two years of service time in the NFL. That means six spots can go to NFL veterans.
At noon today, all players who were waived and have less than four years of NFL experience will go through the waiver wire. The Patriots have the 14th-best waiver priority.
