According to NFL Media’s Tom Pelissero, The Patriots have decided to waive rookie running back Kevin Harris, leading up to the 4:00 p.m. deadline.
Harris (21) was drafted in the sixth round of the 2022 draft. The South Carolina product rushed for 80 yards with one touchdown in the preseason. Kevin Harris showed promise through training camp. However, the Patriots drafted running back Pierre Strong Jr. two rounds before Harris. Strong Jr. is now seen as a lock to make the roster.
The running back room consists of Damien Harris, Rhamondre Stevenson, Ty Montgomery, Pierre Strong Jr, and J.J. Taylor.
The NFL expanded the practice squad to 16 players. Adding players to the practice squad will take place later this week.
