The Patriots have made their first roster cut; according to Mike Giradi of NFL Network, New England has waived tight end Devin Asasi.
Asasi (25) got drafted in the third round of the 2022 draft and since has caught two passes for 39 yards. Asasi missed out on the preseason finale due to a sore hamstring.
The Patriots previously waived tight end Dalton Keene, who was also drafted in the 2020 draft. The Patriots traded up to get both tight ends neither panned out the way they would like.
The Patriots have until 4:00 p.m. to get their roster down to 53 players.
