According to ESPN reporter Mike Reiss, the New England Patriots have activated DL Christian Barmore from the injured reserve list.
In corresponding moves, the Patriots placed offensive linemen Isaiah Wynn on the injured reserve and elevated linebacker Jamie Collins from the practice squad.
Barmore was placed on the IR midway through November due to a knee injury he suffered against the Cleveland Browns in Week 7. This season Barmore has had 15 tackles, one sack, three quarterback hits, and seven quarterback hurries. The Alabama product returned to practice this week in Arizona as the team hoped he would be ready to return this week. The Patriots’ pass rush is dominant and should become elite with the return of Barmore.
The sophomore will try to help the defensive line, and defend NFL’s leading rusher, Josh Jacobs. The Alabama product will try and reach 100+ rushing yards for the fourth time in five games.
Meanwhile, Isaiah Wynn’s tenure in New England could end as he suffered an ankle injury against the Jets in Week 8. The former first-round pick has been a constant disappointment in New England and never appeared to live up to the hype.
Collins will earn back-to-back elevations, as he was also elevated last Monday night against the Cardinals. The Southern Mississippi product is in his fourth stint with the Patriots. He has had an impressive career with the Patriots and earned a Superbowl ring: as a Patriot, Collins has committed 26.5 sacks, 12 interceptions, eight fumble recoveries, and 19 forced fumbles.
Meanwhile, earlier in the day, the Patriots announced that fourth-year running back Damien Harris will be downgraded from questionable to out. Harris joins receiver DeVante Parker and cornerback Jalen Mills as inactive for the Patriots.
Injuries are starting to pile up as the Patriots make a playoff push. New England will be shorthanded in Vegas as they try to come away with a win.
The Patriots and Raiders will kick off at 4:05 on Sunday.
