Patriots add former Titans Coach to Staff

The New England Patriots are hiring another former Titans coach.

According to Joseph Pasteris, the Patriots have agreed to terms with former New York Giants assistant Zak Kuhr.

Kuhr interviewed for the job on Thursday and was hired shortly after. He was an intern at Ohio State from 2011 to 2012, where he assisted with the running backs and special teams. Mike Vrabel was also at Ohio State during this period. Kuhr then made his first NFL stop with the Tennessee Titans, starting as a quality control coach before working his way up to assistant linebackers coach from 2021 through 2023.

After the former Titans defensive coordinator left the team to join the New York Giants, Kuhr followed him. Additionally, Ryan Cowden, who worked as an advisor to Giants General Manager Joe Schoen, has also left New York to join the Patriots’ front office.

Kuhr has also spent time coaching at Old Dominion, James Madison, Rutgers, Texas State, and Texas.

The defensive assistant will now join defensive coordinator Terrell Jennings on the defensive side of the football.
