The Patriots continue to trim their roster to 53 players ahead of Monday’s deadline.
According to a source, the Patriots have waived defensive back Rodney Randle.
Randle, 25, joined the NFL as an undrafted free agent out of Lamar University. He signed with the Los Angeles Chargers in 2020 before being cut at the NFL’s roster deadline. The 6’0, 170-pound defensive back spent time in the XFL before heading to the CFL.
However, it wasn’t long until Randle transferred to the CFL, where he appeared in 23 games for the Montreal Alouettes and Hamilton Tiger-Cats. He recorded 69 tackles and four interceptions during his time in the CFL.
The Patriots must finalize their 53-man roster by Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. The Patriot’s current roster sits at 81 players.
