The Patriots participated in their second day of practice Friday afternoon as they prepare to face the 4-8 Arizona Cardinals. The Patriots are coming off two straight losses and look to save their season with a win in Arizona. However, it will be hard as injuries start to pile on.
Three of New England’s four nonparticipants on Thursday were inactive last week against the Buffalo Bills. Running Back Damien Harris didn’t suit up due to a thigh injury he’s been fighting this season. Along with offensive linemen Isaiah Wynn, who is dealing with a foot injury, and Jalen Mills due to a groin injury. In addition, left Tackle Trent Brown didn’t partake in practice yesterday but was seen today. Brown has been dealing with an illness. The most notable player not at practice was reliable wide receiver Jakboi Meyers, who has been dealing with a shoulder injury and a head injury.
Mills, Meyers, Wynn, and Harris all face an uphill climb to suit up on Monday, and their status is questionable.
The newly added Conor McDermott is the only healthy Patriots tackle out of all the offensive tackles. Trent Brown, Isaiah Wynn, and Yodny Cajuste are all fighting through injury. Meanwhile, veteran Marcus Cannon is eligible to return from the IR.
The Patriots will hold practice one final time in FOxbourgh Saturday before flying west, where they will play the Cardinals Monday, Josh McDaniels, and the Raiders the following Sunday. These two games are must-wins, and if the Patriots want a relstatic shot at the playoffs, they have to head back to New England with an 8-6 record.
