After a narrow win against the New York Jets in Week 1, the Pittsburgh Steelers could only muster 17 points against the Seattle Seahawks and fell 31-17 at home. However, the Steelers are still favored by sportsbooks, and the Patriots open as 1.5-point underdogs for Week 3.
“It’s been two weeks,” Rodgers said via Yahoo Sports.com. “Last week we were 100% in the red zone, so this week we weren’t. I think we need to take it easy. It’s a small sample size.”
The Patriots are incredibly familiar with Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, and although the 2024 season was disastrous, the Patriots still defeated the Jets once. In Week 3, the Patriots fell to the Jets 24-3 on Thursday Night Football, but New England edged out the Jets 25-22 in their second matchup. The Steelers, meanwhile, are 0-4 at Gillette Stadium since 2008. Furthermore, the team hasn’t been able to beat the Patriots since 2018.
According to DraftKings Network, the over/under is set at 44.5 points. The biggest question mark for the game thus far will be the injury report. The Patriots could be getting massive help in the secondary if All-Pro Christian Gonzalez returns. On the other side, the Steelers might be without defensive tackle Derrick Harmon, cornerback Joey Porter Jr., and strong safety DeShon Elliott.
The New England Patriots will host the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday at 1:00 PM. Both teams are 1-1.
