Patriots start making cuts; release Tucker Addington

The New England Patriots have started making roster cuts

The team has reportedly cut long snapper Tucker Addington on Monday morning. Boston Herald’s Doug Kyed first reported the move. Addington recently began his second stint with the Patriots, signing a veteran minimum during training camp.

Addington, 27, was a former undrafted free agent and started his NFL career with the Dallas Cowboys. However, his professional career started with the USFL’s Houston Gamblers. The former Sam Houston State alum joined the Patriots practice squad in December 2022.

The move primarily happened because veteran long snapper Joe Cardona was battling injuries and was eventually placed on injured reserve.

Unfortunately, Addington was waived when Cardona became fully healthy. He then spent time with the Jaguars and the Commanders.

The Patriots must continue cutting players until they reach a 53-man roster.
