According to Field Yates, the Patriots have waived the 2020 draft pick, Dalton Keene. Keene has struggled to remain healthy with his tender in New England and thus has been released ahead of roster cutdowns.

Dalton, who was never injured at Virginia Tech, never caught on with the offense in Foxborough. Keene, who has been injured throughout his time with New England, didnt get the opportunity that he hoped. He has only appeared in six games with five targets, three receptions, and 16 yards.

Keene was a long shot at making the Patriots’ 2022 roster. With him leaving, New England’s tight end depth chart consists of Hunter Henry, Jonnu Smith, Devin Asiasi, Jalen Wudermyer, and Matt Sokol.

NFL teams have to cut their rosters down to 80 players on Tuesday.

The Patriots also waived defensive backs Jalen Elliott and Devin Hafford on Saturday.
